"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6: 12
Friday's Word: Battle
Friday's Discipline: Fasting from sunrise to sunset...water only
Friday's Focus: a day to interced and battle for yourself and others
It is not often we deny ourselves food and drink. Still one who goes to war does not eat in the midst of the struggle. Hunger and a growling tummy remind me to pray, to intercede, to hold tightly to His word. On this day I drink water from sunrise to 7:00 p.m. Before my feet hit the floor I read Ephesians 6: 10-18 because a warrior never goes to battle without his armor, helmet, and weapon. My pockets and purse hold notecards with scriptures because that is the only weapon we have (vs. 17). I find myself a little detached at times praying for those issues that keep my entangled...praying for others. The discomfort pushes me to the image of the cross where Jesus suffered for me.
